Olaf Odegaard (December 15, 1938 – December 25, 1997), known professionally as Olaf, was an American artist and playwright recognized for his finely rendered homoerotic graphite drawings. Born in Wisconsin, he became an influential figure within late twentieth-century gay visual culture, noted for combining classical draftsmanship with bold explorations of desire, mythology, and power.

Odegaard’s work frequently incorporated satyrs, devils, and BDSM imagery, presenting erotic subject matter with technical precision and psychological nuance. His illustrations appeared in Drummer magazine, a central publication in gay leather culture, and in 1985 he published Personals: Only Real Men Need Reply, with proceeds supporting AIDS charities. In 1986, he organized Naked Eyes, a visual arts showcase highlighting contemporary gay artists.

Trained in theater and playwriting, Odegaard held degrees from Carroll College and the University of Hawaii. Today, he is remembered for elevating erotic graphite drawing into a distinctive and enduring artistic practice.
