The Story

image measures 11 x 17 inches on a 13 x 19 inch sheet of paper

produced with archival inks on Epson matte paper

Edition 2/5 + 2 AP

"Hot Time in a Cold Town Tonight" is a study in performance, desire, and controlled transformation. A masked figure emerges in partial view, adorned in latex opera gloves and suggestion, where what is concealed becomes as important as what is revealed. The mask, although disposable, is not only gaudy but single-use, introducing a language of self-care that blurs into performance, ritual, and excess.

The work navigates the tension between power and vulnerability, inviting the viewer into a moment that feels intimate, theatrical, and quietly seductive. It considers what it means to perform confidence, and whether the act itself can become a form of reclamation. "Hot Time in a Cold Town Tonight" is a print from Character Studies, an exploration of parasocial intimacy, recently exhibited at Chute Gallery.
